Currency Introduction-VAR Coin

As the latest currency issued, the VAR coin is not familiar to some people and even thinks that the currency is illegal. In fact, it is not the case. The WHO produces VAR coins. With the emergence and continuous spread of new viruses, VAR coin is generated to enable the reasonable distribution of vaccines among countries and regions.

As of February 18, 2021, at least seven vaccines have been launched through three platforms. Vulnerable populations in various countries are the top priority for vaccination.

At the same time, more than 200 candidate vaccines are still under development, with more than 60 of them in clinical trials. Together with its partners, the WHO launched the COVID-19 Vaccine Global Access (COVAX) mechanism in 2020. The COVAX mechanism is the vaccine backbone of the Acceleration Plan for Access to COVID-19 Tools (ACT Acceleration Plan) and is led by the Epidemic Prevention Innovation Alliance, GAVI, and WHO.

On June 1, 2021, the leaders of the IMF, the World Bank Group, WHO, and the WTO participated in a joint press conference to outline a new joint road map to end the pandemic and promote a truly rapid global recovery.

All viruses—including SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19—will evolve over time. When a virus replicates or replicates itself, it sometimes changes a little, which is normal for a virus. These changes are called "mutations." This characteristic also makes the vaccines research more difficult and requires more capital investment.

But just developing a vaccine is not enough. The most important step is to spread the vaccine globally.  The world is in a COVID-19 pandemic.  WHO and partners have been working together on the response, including tracking the pandemic, advising on critical interventions, and distributing essential medical supplies to those in need, while also racing to find vaccines.

Vaccines can save millions of lives every year. The principle of the vaccine is to train and prepare the body's natural defense system, the immune system, to identify and fight against the viruses and bacteria it targets. After being vaccinated, if the body is exposed to these pathogens, it will immediately be ready to destroy them, thereby preventing disease. But this means that more workforce and material resources need to be invested. Under such circumstances, the WHO issued VAR coins.

The currency, and encourage everyone to participate, is to gather everyone’s efforts to help fill the funding gap of the "ACT Acceleration Plan", so that the plan can proceed smoothly. It is a significant thing to develop vaccines against various variants of COVID-19, help the plan to produce and popularize effective vaccines, and a small contribution to society.

The final release (VAR) Global Access of Vaccines to Prevent Variant Covid-19, led by WHO and approved by the leaders of various countries, must comply with the relevant laws and regulations. The "ACT Acceleration Plan" can create a minimum of $9 trillion in global economic returns by 2025, and increase production capacity, supplies, trade flows, and the fair distribution of diagnostic tools, oxygen, therapeutic drugs, medical supplies, and vaccines.

The issuance of the VAR coin is to enable COVID-19 to be better studied, and related vaccines can be researched more quickly and better promoted globally. Therefore, the issuance of VAR coins is reasonable and under national laws. We hope that more people can pay attention to this currency and contribute to the R&D and promotion of COVID-19 and vaccines.
